Defining Brilliance
In December 2016, Absolute AV Consulting’s founder, Richard Friesen, headed off to Fort Worth, TX to attend the TecHome Builders Summit. While there, Friesen was presented with the prestigious TecHome Brilliance Award for Absolute AV Consulting’s work on Denise Simons’ Tiny Home project.

Absolute AV Consulting received recognition for brilliance under the category TecHomes & Communites: Outdoor Living Home.
In this category, judges evaluate entries based on levels of innovation, value and excellence. Particular attention is paid to entries demonstrating high levels of efficiency, an increase in home performance and convenience, and the home’s ability to provide outstanding experiences for homeowners and guests.
One judge said, “Recognition in any industry is important. We honor those shooting for the stars and raising awareness at the same time.”
Andrea Medeiros, Director of Editorial & Content Development, AE Ventures’ TecHome Team, presented the Brilliance Awards at the Award Ceremony.

Big Things In Small Packages
You may recall our earlier post titled Denise Simons Taps Absolute AV For Her Tiny Home Project. In that post we described many of the features included in the home. In short, Simons’ 400 square foot carriage house was converted into a guest house / entertainment annex / meeting space.
The inside of the home includes all the creature comforts any guest would expect and more! Indoor and outdoor spaces combine via a Nana wall at the back of the home. On the back patio, guests may enjoy an open-air shower after a dip in the pool. Outdoor seating areas on the patio and around the pool provide open views of the poolside water / fire feature. Music may be enjoyed on the patio and poolside via a series of strategically placed speakers.
Everything – from indoor/outdoor lighting and audio, to door locks, HVAC, outdoor water and fire feature, to the moving art that disguises a television screen inside the space – is controlled via a single mobile app or keypad by the entry door. Truly an example of home automation at its best!
Whistle While You…Contemplate Life
Wait – have we mentioned the whistling station? This unique feature encourages guests to forget the cares of the day while listening to a library of “whistled music.” There are so many features packed into this small space – this guest home anticipates every need and engages the senses.
